All RX are born equal and then few become RXC

Post by nav75 »

Having given up all hopes of getting a decent brand new Indian bike from bike makers (sorry pulsars, zma, etc don't excite me any more). I started to invest time and money on the RXC which, till now was anything but left ignored.

Last weekend with the help of Ravikiran (in person) and Rash (over phone), we managed to sort out the firing issue. The problem was due to incorrect connections. This weekend I replaced the rusted chain sprocket with a new one. In eve studied the wiring diagram and got the headlamp working. The moment lamp worked (6pm in eve), it was enough daylight but the damn yellow beam was visible on the wall few feets ahead of me. Bringing a crazy thought of using the RXC for night touring instead of Bullet  Well the headlight setup right now is some 35/35 non-halogen bulb in pulsar dome with RDD's 90/100 kit. Plan is to put in the spare seal beam of bullet with a 100/90 halogen. Ron I need a 90/100 kit for my bullet

Sun, took the bike out to town to fillup with yummp 97octane. Since I had only 1lt of fuel in bike, used mileage bottle to make sure I don't run out of fuel as the pump is some 12km's from my house. Well the first 300ml in mileage bottle took me to 8km's (running very rich - the pwk is jetted for chambers and I was running stock pipes, chamber is too loud for city use, need to stuff in some glass wool before using it). The pull is still good enough for all the "modern" 4st bikes seen on road.

After tanking up with 97octane and Motul, got a new front mudguard, chain cover and gear shift leaver fitted. After ripping all over the town went to meet rash. A plan was made, according to which I'll be improving the bike as per cosmetics and some chassis work (swing arm bushes, rear suspension) in next couple of weeks.
Rash also pointed out to me about the head which I was finding to be "hot", as nothing but just warm enough, after a mad rip for 20+km's.

More later...

Stuff that glasswool and run the chamber man. I have a sackful if you want some. Get the bike over and I'll do it for you.

Get Rash to mod the pipe like I told you to match the present piston size.
You will get at least 4-5 BHP more.

No man pipes take weeks and months to do just change the cone section.
