The happy Danne
The happy Danne
Dear Mr. Chinoy I send you my best happy greeting , my cdi kit arrived yesterday. Had obligations elswere, but this evening I installed the electrical system. Took me a couple of hours to re-drill the brass plate to fit my rd200, and istalling the parts. Switched the ignition on - but no spark ! hmmm checked the istallation once .... still no spark, but no light either. Then it hit me to check the fuse, and after re-fitting the fuse the ligt came on, and it started to give spark right away .
Now I just need to check the oil pump, carbs and the oil level tomorrow, and then i have to bring her back to life. Can,t wait
I thank you for a great produkt, the follow up story will come in a couple of dayes, when I have felt her speek to me
Cheers Leo

RE: The happy Danne
Thats cool man. Glad your happy.
I have very few RD200 customers.
Nice to add denmark to my global list of customers.
Once you have her runing you can forget about your electrical problems once and for all.
And focus on just enjoying the bike.
And on one more thing.
After the RDD CDI she dont speak any more.
She only sings.

HE HE HE lol.
I'm getting the exact same symtoms as descriped in the "The Embarresing Fart !!" post, in the RD Forum. Have just ordered at set of plugs (NGK BPR8 HS, + 5 ohm NGK caps) I must say that I have heard her sing so beautifully for me. And I know that in a day from know she will sing again

Ohh yes I can hear her sing
After fitting a pair of 5 ohm NGK caps & a set of BPR8HS NGK plugs she is starting to sing. Although she needs a little fine tuning of the timing & jetting, but that is something I could not have been able to do without the RDD CDI.
So once again Warm greetings from Denmark
Cheers Leo

Short updat on the precious one
The RD200 sings again, eventhough she is still a litle rusty
I haven't put a licence plate on her yet, since she is still to noisy for me to bring her to the local "registration center", where the bikes will have to go through the controll test ( brakes, lights, exhaust ect.).
So I haven't gotten to many miles on the road yet, but I have been taking a few test runs .
Have just bought a pair of old chambers from a RD 350LC from 1982 (Europe ) on Ebay, in Germany which is a neighbour country to Denmark. My plan is to fit them on my 200. I am still waiting for at set of old original exhausts, I have bought on Ebay in the US but I was to cheap to pay for air shipping so I had them sent by ground.
But any how during my test drives, I have come to learn that this little bike is a whole lot of fun to drive, and I can do 99,5% of all the fixing myself, now that she has gotten a reliable electrical system
Cheers from Denmark
ps. the winter is getting closer here in Denmark, but my goal is to get a lincence plate on her before it starts to drop below 0 celcious

Cool man enjoy the bike.
SPread the word about the kit with the other RD guys.
And ride safe.
That old electrical system was really holding the bike back.

Hi
Just a short update from the northern hemisphere, thanks to the global warming we have our warmest December in decades in Denmark (around 10 Celcious). But hey it works fine for me and I do my best by burning of as much fossile fuel as possible
I have gotten my original exhaust, for the rd200, I am trying my best to get the carburettors tuned. But she is at sweet hysterical lady where the powerband feels great, once you can hit the sweet spot for her to get there. But as many other acquaitenships whith hysterical females, it's all a matter of practise and a good deal of sweet talk.
But boy is she ever a lot of fun. After many years of fourstroke riding, I had all forgotten how much fun it is to feel that powwerband kick in
Cheers

New year update
The latest news from Denmark
The weather is still really warm (around 10 degrees celsious ), so I am putting some miles on the spedo. Have gotten the carbs. fairly tuned in, with a pair of aftermarket airfilters. And I am still smiling every time I park her somewhere, cause of the thrill from the feeling of riding that powerband. Eventhough we are talking about speeds below 110 km/h.
I have had the the spedo showing 140 km/h ( with a strong wind in my back, and me lying flat on the tank)
It reminds me so much of my early experinces with my old 4speed, 50ccm yamaha moped. It was the same thrill from getting the spedo to hit 80 km/h
Ohh and another fun factor is when i get my rd200 to lift the front wheel when i accelerate i 1st. gear
She can't do it in 2.nd gear. And it probably looks foolish when at 2 meter tall guy like me sits on such a small bike pops around like that. But it is so much fun
cheers from denmark

RE: New year update
Thanks happy Dane enjoy the bike.
As long as we can keep that inner child smiling and happy the years fly by and life is good. May the sun continue to shine on your face. And may you enjoy the wind in your hair for many years to come.
Enjoy your bike.
Thanks for you faith in us and enjoy the best Ignition you could have possibly given you little darling. Ive found the 250s benefit the most from the Digital CDI. Makes a huge difference to the low and midrange.
Next time she sings. Sings along with her.

Leo don't forget to tell them about the RZ and TZR CDIs.
Also about how we guarantee 400 - 500 Volts a/c to the HT coils at all RPMs. On the RZ and TZR CDIs.
Control over timing don't mean squat if your stuck using a Single HT coils with two leads.

Into of the CDI system on danish RD forum
Hi mr Chinoy
I have given the CDI system my best recomendations, on a danish Rd fourm:
part from that I have copied a couple of post, about the RZ CDI plus your post about the installation on the RZ ( i forgot the name of the owner ). And posted them on the forum.
The danish forum only counts 70 members, of which only 3/4 rides a RD, so its not like its a big market potential. But it's a bunch of enthusiats who strive for the best, so who knows maybe they will contact one of you for some infomation.
Actually there is a guy with a project about making a turbo RD,
its' a serious build and it seems like it is going to fly witin the nearest future
Cheers Leo

But since my experience only counts toward the non ypvs systems, I have given them your email plus Jante350's (Norway is next to Denmark, and some people need to have a closer reference than a dedicated two stroke fanatic/expert in India)

Thanks man that was very sweet of you.
We have already done our Turbo Homework.
We can provide you an ignition that changes timing based on Boost.
