Namaskaara to one and all in RD Dreams :-)

Namaskaara - To all the fellow members of RD Dreams :-)

My name is Renu Kumar and Deepak(you can address me as you like to)
Am qualified enough to read and write ;)

I am earning my bread and butter at CLi3L e-Services Ltd as a Sr Tech Support Representative.

I stay in Basavanagudi, a great Cultural area of Bangalore.

Eating habits are all vegetarian.

Other habits does not include cigarette or booze as COFFEE has captured my heart.

My hobbies are riding, reading(tinkle and other comics plus all the auto mags) and roaming with friends.

My first girl friend was... getting too personal.. eh ok, she was RX100. One of my father's friend complained him that I pull wheelies near college. He sold the bike :(

I fought with my parents a lot and finally found myself with my second girlfriend Hero Honda Sleek(even though everyone knew that the bike will be stopped, I purchased it as it was one of the best looking bikes of that time)
Spent sometime with her and found her too boring. She was saving money but no josh.

I again begged with my parents, they gave me an option to purchase any new 100 cc FOUR stroke bike. Test rode Caliber, Victor and Crux. Liked the beats of a Crux very much. Also, the power compared to my previous bike was too good with 106cc and 7.6 bhp.

Purchasing the Crux opened a new chapter in my life called "touring". My favourite destination was Kanakapura and Mysore and have done n number of trips there.

My longest ever ride on my Yamaha Crux was to Goa and the highlight of this trip is riding in heavy rain from Goa to Sira(app 600 kms) non stop in night. Stopped in Sira only for re-fuelling.

Other rides on Yamaha Crux included ride to Horanaadu, a place near Chikkamagalur in Karnataka.

By this time, I had started earning. My first savings went to RX135..... the most powerful ever bikes I had. I felt like jumping from well directly into an ocean.

I loved and again, I hated the Cat con which was very heavy. So removed that and put a brand new exhaust from RX100(the steel one). This modification led to a clean street porting of my bike which was very interesting. The next stage of biking was an addition of Bajaj Pulsar 150 DTSi.

After having a series of bikes like RX100, RX135, Crux and Hero Honda Sleek, finally I decided to go for Bajaj Pulsar the same time last year.

Why did I choose Pulsar 150?

I had a ported Yamaha RX135 which was running with the carb of RX 5 Speed and jets of RX 4 speed with a Tachometer from RXZ and I had changed the heavy cat con to a normal steel exhaust.

Performance was excellent and I was doing Bangalore Mysore runs in 1 hr 40 mins.

However, I was feeling bored to fill the belly of RX as she was drinking petrol like a fish.

Thought I will have a mileage bike as mileage and performance will not come together.

My options were Bajaj Pulsar and HH Unicorn.

Test rode both the bikes and found Unicorn was more refined and had a mono shock. So what, Bajaj was offering gas shocks and 17 inch wheels with 100/90 tyres on the rear. Looks of Pulsar were more appealing than Unicorn and the reviews on few mags showed that the bikes are equally good.

So, decided to put my hands on Bajaj Pulsar 150 DTSi.

Even though the throttle response was not as crispier as RX, the power was quite decent. Made my mind to take her for a spin to Mysore. Wow, the bike was doing 110 kmph on speedo without any strain at 8500 rpm. Felt good....

More astonishing feature was the money that I saved on Petrol which exceeded more than 150 Rs.

Time came for the first service as I had completed 500 kms. Took my bike to POPULAR MOTORS for service. Believe me, service was a nightmare. I think apart from washing and oil change, they din't do anything.

However, had to accept and took my bike to the Western Ghats of Karnataka covering Sharavanabelagola, Chikkamagalur, Horanaadu, Kuduremukha, Dharmasthala and back. Covered some 1200 kms and took the bike for servicing again. Yuck!! same shitty service. But no other option.

Between the second and third service, took my bike to Kanyakumari. Till Coimbatore, it did not rain but from Coimbatore till Kanyakumari, I was completely drenched. Thanks to the grippy tyres which did not ask me to stop anywhere due to rains. Did Bangalore-Kanyakumari-Bangalore in just 36 hours where I covered more than 1800 kms where most of the journey was in rainfall.

This time, I did not want to get the bike serviced at Popular again, I posted a thread in ?BHP regarding a good service station for Bajaj in Bangalore and most of the votes lead to AUTO SERVICE which is popular as VENKATS.

So, hoping for the best, I took my bike there and to my luck, they were excellent. I could just compare POPULAR AND VENKAT like Hell and Heaven.

Had a very good experience.

Again, did many rides which included rides to Mysore several times.

Most of the rides were solo.

Joining hands with ?BHP, she has also done many rides to Kanakapura which is a town very close to Bangalore and also Nandi Hills which is a small hill.

Took the bike to Madikeri and back where I had the worst possible roads.

By this time, I was so attached to my money saving Pulsar that I ignored my RX and sold her :(

Had taken the bike to Chennai for TRACK DAY also.

So, my bike has run in all the seasons in all the terrains. Good roads, bad roads, rain, sunshine etc. She has seen everything.

Met with few accidents also :(

Modifications I have done: As the performance of the bike is good, I did not touch the mechanical part. Have made electrical modifications. Have replaced the rectifier with a custom built one. Coil is winded. Headlight bulb is a Philips all season 100/90 as I was not satisfied with the 35/35 halogen. Roots air horn for invading the ghat section with ease.

So, this is about myself and mah bikes....

I am always open for decent friendship.

OK, I have given my introduction now.

Thanking you,

Your's faithfully,

RenuKumar aka Deepak

Never knew I would receive such a warm welcome. I am so happy about it :D

@Sanjay: Yes maga, understood what you said. Yeah, the silencer is louder than the cat con but I'm sure the performance will see a plus.

@Shamik: Thanks mate, please don't disclose my name here :)
