Uni foam - F-650

Post by GerardFdz »

After a lot of pestering and cajoling I recd the air filter foam. Tks Ron.... and Arun for getting it over.
Though I was itching to cut it to size and fit it asap -but wife No. 1 always has other plans set up for "your" week end.
Anyway finally cut to size/shape, punched holes for a perfect fit and now ready to roll  If the weather holds over the week end will def try it out - see if there is any appreciable difference.

I now have a New RX100 air filter element -up for grabs anyone?

Robin - yes I think I'll trouble you for some oil!
I used a thin oil -soaked it and squeezed out the extra - hver noticed that the oil ran out so I'm sure i need a thicker sticker oil.
I have various grades of oil at home - so once I compare it with the actual I should be ok.

Ron - Tks - I hope the funds were sufficient - Re the oil will check it out then take it from there. I ustand( fm the f650 site)- I dont have to upjet, as the original filters are also foam?

Its not Chinoy Filter oil specifically. Its a can of Castrol Foam filter Spray like this - http://www.dirtbikestore.co.uk/acatalog ... ol_29.html scroll down and you'll see it. So Vivek, I'm afraid I can't really send you a litre of that!! Though you are free to spray it on!

Gerard, gimme a buzz and I can hand it over to you at your office as usual.

Dont know man but at least it wont stall every time stones and mud and small snaimals get sucked in.
And the engine will last a lot longer.
Now if only it was as simple as it being an oil smeared sponge. And I didnt have to pay for it in $$$s Id be rich.
