I i just want to post up my personal experiece with the RDdreams digital CDI kit.
firsts, everybody knows that the old RD electrical system is crap, always has been. i havn't built an RD engine for quite some time after the constant fussing with electrical and ignition problems back in the old days. when i read about the RDD DCi on another forum, i knew i could build that old engine and chasssi the way i always wanted to.
i orderd my CDI before i began my restoration so i wouldn't need to rush anyone on the shipping. i recieved the DCI apx 2 months later. opening the package, you get an instant scense of value, you know your money has been well spent. in the package is pretty much everything, and i mean EVERYTHING you need accept lights.
instructions would have been nice, but the kit is very easy to install with a little common scense and some basic understading of electricity. after the installation, you'll notice immediatly how easilly your bike starts and how crisp the throttle responce is.
as you ride the bike, you relize that the engine has lost all those nasty characteristics you hated. no chugging, surging, backfires or throttle lag. wow, the lights are bright, can't ever remember saying that with that old system. i can sure remember the annoying flicker at stop signs though.
i have to say, hats off to you ron. great product and worth every penny. by far the best upgrade available for these bikes without a doubt..

RE: RDD CDI!
If you've seen coolhead's bikes, you'll realize this is a great compliment to Ron, as coolhead's been around the block with 2 strokes. My experience with the cdi was identical. The instructions are all on-line if anyone needs them.
