Hello everyone

Post by sprocket »

Hi,
Im Saikat from Bangalore. Have been riding a Pulsar 150cc for the last two years (please excuse the ignorance.. ) Fell in love with an RD one of my profs use (the bike, not the prof.. ). Saving up to get one for myself.. I have read about the RD quite a lot on the Internet, but if anyone can guide me on how to ride/renovate/maintain (dont just want to send it to a "service center") it would be really great. Any other advice on biking is also welcome.

Thanks,
Saikat.

Hey Saikat, welcome buddy. This is probably THE best place to know, understand and ask about an RD.I aint no expert,so I will leave the suggestions and guidance to some of the "older" and "wiser" peeps in here :).
Once again welcome, make yourself at home :).

welcome sprocket. you are not chriss student are you?
youve started right. keep learning about the bike here.
and youll know what to look for in an rd in a while.

once you get that rd you should be able to fix most things yourself if you have the inclination for it. this forum doesn an awesome job guidin. good luck.

Thanks Don and Arun. No im not Chriss student, but you just made me realize that my prof could well be a member here ("the bike, not the prof.." doesnt seem anymore like a good idea...). Been reading the posts on the forum and i feel like i dont know anything about bikes (after two years of 'fill and forget' and feeling 'definately male'). Does anyone know of any online guide to a bikes internals (something like part->what it does->how it does)? The techincal terms and biker slang forum is great btw.
