Welcome COLA

Post by krish »

Hello people,

My name is Krishna Jeet Cola and i apologize for not posting an intro sooner, still finding my way around the site.

Well as u guys have already had the low down about me from TOM and CHINOY theres very little I can add to it.

A few personal details would be that i've owned 3 RD's till now. Presently own an '85 RD with a few minor tweaks to keep the adrenalin flowing  used to ride Joe's drag RD and won a few races and the hill climb championship on his bike. Have sort of shifted focus to cars now, drive a '02 honda city vtec. "I MISS RACING THE 350'S"

And yes, have also ridden a RDD prepared 350, tom's bike i think, at the Speed run , Bangalore, 2003.

Yo! man welcome.

So hows the car scene going.
Had a chance to chk out any of the Turboed Esteems.
How do they compare to your old esteem.
Just curious about this.
Turbo vs Cams, Exhaust, 4 carbs bla bla you know what I mean.

hey chinoy,

well to be very frank with you have'nt really driven or seen any of the turbo esteems performing. I think one of TOM's cousins owns one and it did'nt do too well in the drag, clutch problem i think. anyway my esteem was pretty quick for an 8 valve engine, had a 300 piper cam from england, got it machined to the specs i wanted, rebuilt bottom half, etc etc. she also had a mikuni carb made at the chennai mikuni factory by bose.

Comparison as i se it is that the non turbo version with the 4 carb setup will win hands down. the kind of thrust she develops in mid range ie around 4500 rpm is incredible, like hitting the NOS button on my honda.
she did a 15.7 in qualifying at the speed run which still has'nt been beaten, the current record being 15.91 by deepak jouhari in his NOS powered mpfi esteem.

Cool 15.7 is quite respectable for a NA Esteem.
Yeah Viveks Turbo Esteem had some jeting and clutch issues.

Next time maybe you should chk out my esteem. And let me know if you think its worth runing at the drags.

Ps: Was the Drag run before I ported and fixed the heads or after ? (Q for the Driver Jaggu)

hmm....yeah ive driven the esteem WOT on the Jakkur runway and it's bloody fast!
But krishna..... the turbo set-up with the right gearing n other non-engine mods would give a good fight!

15.7sec is bloody impressive for a carb NA esteem!

Why dont you make a post about The Esteem all the mods you had done and who did them from you.
Looks Like I have to catch Mr. Bose myself for some Carb work.
Issues like the Power Jet not working under boost and the plastic bowl colapsing at very high Boost.
