My screen name is one I use on several automotive forums for Plymouth Neons and SCCA Solo2 autocross, which is a hobby of mine.
Back in the late 70s, I bought an RD350 thru a kinda default deal where my boss had loaned money to a coworker for one. After the coworker rode it one time, he was so scared of the awesome power of the bike
that he refused to get back on it, or pay for it. I told my boss that I would go retrieve the bike and take over the loan ($400 IIRC).Anyway, I enjoyed riding it for a year or two, during which time I also bought 2 more RD350s in 'disassembled' condition (engines off of frames).
The one 'good' one ran fine 'til about 1984, at which time I had to lay it down in some bushes due to a lil' old lady in a cage pulling out in front of me
. Though the damage was slight, I basically parked it, storing it (and the two others) in an old Dodge van that sits in my back yard.Fast forward to now: I occasionally consider pulling the 3 bikes out to see about restoring enough parts to build one (maybe 2?) good bike(s). Tonight I ran up on this site, and was hoping you good folks could help me in this endeavor.
I will soon be posting up some nOObie questions concerning what I should do with my vintage crotchrockets. I hope I don't make too much of a pest of myself.. I have good mechanical talents, and a fair amount of tools, so I'm hoping to hear from some of y'all!
