Neo from Bangalore

Post by general_neo »

Hello Brothers,
I am glad I could post and let my brothers know my feelings towards fourwheeled beasts.. Like most of the people, I started my passion when I was young or ever since I remember. Born abroad and Dad owning an Garage that brings in everything from a Toyota Corolla to Rolls Royce, I had my time when I could touch and feel those beasts. Not anymore

I am pretty simple and very direct --->>> Bad influence by Working in Call center and handling american customers. Driving, tuning/ modding car is my hobby, passion, bad habit... what ever u may call it.

Been in India for the past 14 years I truly love my country. Only sad agonizing part is, I cant get my hands on, Skylines, Supra or 350Zs.
Cutting the long story short, Right now the Owner of a Santro Xing, a car i hated to the core. But I havent spared my xing, shez got attitude and shes different.

I had a bike, CBZ... which was modded and tuned... But that had to go due to my driving habits and the climatic conditions in bangalore. Cars has always been my passion and I am back on it.

Now I am pretty eager to understand the tuner scene in the country. Well Americans are following the Japs and we are catching up. As I mentioned earlier, we dont have access to those wonderfull machines like Skyline, Supra, Civic, 350z, Lexus, Rx8, Mx5, Mustang etc... We need to satisfy ourself with wat weve got here... So I am in the process of learning whoz got what?? I understand therez racing teams and clubs... I am a loner with no team membership or access...

However, I am closely following Tuner scene is U/S and I have few good friends who keep me posted. I am also planning to work out something so that things improve here.

I intend no harm or pass the wrong information. However I would like to understand where we stand. And together we can improve our own rides.
Too much of an introduction... I guess.
Peace

Welcome.
The state of tuning in India is undergoing a transformation.
Its being turned on its ear.

Why now hard to say. Inteligent people taking intrest in the sport, sudden increase in spendable income with the youth.

Dont know what it is. But Id we are on par with anywhere in the world.
We have access to the most advanced engine simulators, briliant guys in electronics working on custom Ignitions and ECUs. And Fuel Injection systems.

The only small hicup is the difficulty with access to tuning goodies due to customs / shipping.
But that will change as more and more goodies becomen avalible in India.
It will start with the Custom ECUs, Inteligent NOS kits, Turbo ECUs and then move onto the parts like cams and pistons and custom EFI systems.

In the old days it used to be who can throw the most money on goodies.
Now we have guys building *beep* setups DIY turbos and ECUs and O2 system for under 10K.
Knowledge will drive the new revolution not money.

Well at least I hope so. Money wil allways be there but what we say is its easier to do it with much less these days.

I dont call bringing down a shit load of goodies or kits from the US or SE Asia and Pluging them on Tuning.
Tuning is building your own Turbo Kit, Building your own ECU, Moding and grinding your own cams, building headers using state of the art software. Thats tuning.

In the old days it was the passionate riders and drivers who had to do this. i.e. spend big bucks on the fancy kits. Now we are seeing a split. The Tuners will do the Tuning and the riders will do the riding or driving.
All good for the sport me thinks.

Now we are seeing a change

Cars :?: ](*,)

I guess it's all good but when did we became a car forum??

Just kidding. Welcome and have fun. But don't expect lot of guys into this and lot of posts. After all this is primarily a RD forum and then some. Car scene to RDD is new and I guess with the likes of you contributing it will grow.
