RE: Re: RE: digi cdi units

I'm one of those guys who also doubted the cdi because it was switching off every 2km on a 60km journey. Discovered that the switch was breaking contact due to vibration and messing with the cdi. Rectified that and there hasnt been a problem yet.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Pipes!

Rode vivek's bike for the 2nd time yesterday. Th first time it was running stock LT heads and not setup correctly which was why the power failed to impress. Also the flatspot was ridiculous. But yesterday it was totally different, I dont know whether it was just the heads and the ignition timing ...

Have fun crazyD. Even I've seen absurdly high fuel efficiencies at times. 31kmpl once 2 years ago and 20kmpl just recently. Not to mention its no LT with stock filter, a ported HT with UNIpods. RDD setups are rough on the chain n sprockets though ;)
@nitesh : leave it man.

RE: Re: RE: Pipes!

What kind of fuel tap are you using? Dont expect any stock fuel tap to keep up with the flow of 2 big main jets at high rpms on WOT.

RE: Pipes!

Jetting for pipes is one of the most difficult tasks. ANd doing so on the non powerjet VM carbs will be more so. I believe you've put flatslides on your setup though, do they hve PJs? Zero in on the correct ignition timing for your style of riding first...then jet and always jet a bit rich or you'll ...

At that particular changeover the bike seems like wanting to go under me & then the acceleration is mind blowing.
Damn....seems like one nasty powerband. Ride safe man.

RE: Vrooom!!!

Dont think that the bike is good to ride all day now. You have to put good petrol filters on it, put the cap on the petcock strainer, bring it down here so that we can set the max advance at 23-24 degrees precisely.

And let her loose listen to the engine note. As you whack the throttle open.
It is a Symphony of sound.

RE: P220 Dessimated

The bike has a very sharp power hit now. Almost unknowingly flipped the damn thing while trying to attempt a stoppie, I know, makes no sense. The power rushes in like crazy in the initial 2 gears. But cycle parts need some tlc.

RE: Now thats how a RD should move ...

That's a really good RD. And the rearset footpegs(pune rdd production) along with that handle bar have made it diferent and more confidence inspiring than any other rd I've ridden. And did I meantion that it has a very impressive powerband?

rode vivek's rd as well, but couldnt really push it as the brakes were quite weak! But even that seemed to have a decent midrange and low end.

Rode 2 of the glorious pune rds today (Zloyd's and sling's). Both bikes seemed really similar to the point that I was convinced that they both have the same port job. Eleanor has a different exhaust note! its more like a flangy roar. Fun started when I rode sling's bike, gearbox shifting clutchless ...
