Hi everyone,
Im Nige from north east England and 27 years after owning my first yam 2 stroke have just bought an RD250 that had become an abandoned project (and allegedly has a 350 top end fitted).
Its far from finished and I suspect it needs a fair bit doing so any advice will be gratefully recieved and please forgive my stupid questions.

Looks neat and awesome. Like the swingarm. Actually like both the front end and back. What are they from?
And welcome mate.

Thanks for the welcome.
As the maestro says, its a tzr front end, tzr rear wheel and a dimensionaly stock (jmc box section) replacement swinger.
It doesnt have a rear brake caliper mount, the sprockets dont line up, the wiring loom is butchered, no oil pump or carbs ............the list goes on

That looks like a great bike in the making. Replace the wiring loom with the RDD cdi kit
Not having carbs can actually be a good thing. You can go for something more ambitious like PWKs or TMs....
What pipes do you plan to put on that thing, if not stock?

I got some bits with it that is mainly junk but intend to try and save the allspeed pipes
As for the carbs i was thinking of mikuni TM32's (is this a good choice?) and think the RDD cdi kit is the way to go but cant find the cost or how to order but have sent Ron a pm.
