After nearly two weeks on the road for various petty reasons I did not really took the bike over 6k. Yesterday I went towards the Gujarat highway hoping to see what the bikes got in store for me
Rode in the 5-6k rpm all the way till the road opened up & then started pulling from 2nd gear onwards. The bike is ultra smooth till 6K and somewhere around 6.5 where the YPVS open it changes itself to a something totally different. At that particular changeover the bike seems like wanting to go under me & then the acceleration is mind blowing. Things tend to move faster than I think... which a personal concern for me is
I have had a decent RD350 which I have taken to 9-9.5 rpm on 6th gear which was fast but this is a totally different business.

It was so fast that a poor crow misjudged my speed and got killed in its flight hitting my radiator... which got the first test ride to stand still as the poor bird was stuck there till the time I did not come stand still. (PHEW I did feel sad for the poor bird)

On the second pull I took it to 9 however had to brake for bad stretch of road (The front brakes have an awesome feel)
In this entire process the bike was rock steady with no sign of age (1989 is the year of import)
Throttle response is the best I have ever experienced; you think 100 it reaches hundred.

Ron, there are no words that can do justice to what you have given me; just to share a some history.. Some two years back I went on a ride with few guys & one of them had a rz350 (from the this forum) and I was pretty impressed by that bike moving; which was the reason I bought a RZ; but now I know that my bike would run circles around it .. I wanted just a nice RZ & you gave me something which is out of this world
Thank you Ron…
Pre-ride changes done:
- Motul 800 Double Ester; changed to premix... man the oil is super cool though currently using 300 ml for 15 ltr which is roughly 2% any changes recommended?
- Removed the baffle from the airbox
Post ride changes to be done:
1Need to do something of the front fork... Need it more stiff it is not handling the acceleration / braking
2.Need to ride more; as I need to get used to it so that I can utilize the potential of the bike.
3.Need to change the sprocket to 17:39 (Current 17:42); this ratio is making it really wheelie friendly especially at YPVS opening... I would feel more confident with the other ratio
Need to get this to the track becasue i need to learn a lot; becasue ron your work needs a skilled rider also..
PS: I wanted this review to really great/ or maybe the best ever written as your work needs much more than; but then my writing skills are not the best..
so if anyone thinks that ROn's talent is ordinary and my engine is the same we can always go for a ride
